Mini-Test Answer: She is Not in Love.

Apr. 24, 2016

Answer: C

Conversation:

Sū Shān: Hēi, hǎojiǔ méijiàn le, shìbushì tán liàn’ài le,  méi shíjiān chūlái wán a?
苏  珊:  嗨,好久    没见   了,  是不是  谈恋爱  了,没   时间   出来   玩  啊?
Susan: Hey, long time no see. Are you in love and have no time to hang out?

Mǎ lì:  Nǎyǒu.
马 丽:哪有。
Mary: No.

Analysis:

“哪有 (nǎyǒu)” in the conversation means “no.” It is a negative response towards a question. In the test, Susan hasn’t seen Amy for quite a long time and guessed that Amy was busy dating someone. But in fact, Amy was not. So she used “哪有 (nǎyǒu) no” as a response.

Example:

Dān: Nǐ kànshàngqù bù gāoxìng, shìbushì hé nǐ lǎogōng chǎojià le?
丹: 你  看上去        不    高兴,  是不是  和 你  老公      吵架   了?
Dan: You look unhappy. Did you quarrel with your husband?

Ài Lā: Nǎyǒu. Wǒ yǒudiǎnr bù shūfu.
艾拉:
哪有。 我   有点儿   不  舒服。
Ella: No. I am a little bit sick.
