Chinese Lessons for Adoptive Families
This Chinese course helps adopted children from China and adoptive parents learn the Chinese language and culture. The adopted children from China will receive systematic training in four aspects: listening, speaking, reading and writing. We can design individualized study plan to meet your chidren’s specific needs. We also offer family packages that you can have interactive Chinese lessons along with your children.
The Chinese lessons for families with adopted children from China are divided into 6 different levels, ranging from beginner level to advanced level, helping adopted children as well as adoptive parents achieve their Chinese learning goals step by step.
Chinese Lessons for Families with Adopted Children from China Level 1
- This level is for adopted children or adoptive parents who have never learned Chinese before and can not read Pinyin or Chinese characters.
- In this level, adopted children or adoptive parents will learn Pinyin and basic strokes of Chinese characters (optional). They will learn basic daily vocabulary and short sentences, such as greetings, self-introduction, introducing family members, counting numbers, etc.
Chinese Lessons for Families with Adopted Children from China Level 2
- This level is for adopted children or adoptive parents who can use familiar words to answer simple questions on basic daily topics. They can read Pinyin or recognize the most basic strokes of Chinese characters.
- In this level, children or parents will learn simple words, short sentences, and simple topics such as weather, time, clothing, etc. The Chinese teacher may teach your children simple nursery rhymes, and very simple Chinese characters.
Chinese Lessons for Families with Adopted Children from China Level 3
- This level is for adopted children or adoptive parents who can ask and answer simple questions on familiar matters with short sentences.
- In this level, children or parents will learn topics such as directions, seasons, likes/dislikes, countries, shopping, ordering food, etc. Your children will learn to narrate a short story. More Chinese characters and nursery rhymes may be learned.
Chinese Lessons for Families with Adopted Children from China Level 4
- This level is for adopted children or adoptive parents who can ask and answer questions with some long sentences and who can narrate short stories. They can exchange information clearly, although somewhat slowly.
- In this level, children or parents will learn topics such as expressing feelings, school life, hobbies, travel plan, etc. Our Chinese teacher will also teach basic knowledge of Chinese culture and customs, stories of idioms, simple poems, etc.
Chinese Lessons for Families with Adopted Children from China Level 5
- This level is for adopted children or adoptive parents, who can communicate with some confidence on familiar routine and non-routine matters related to their interests, and interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity.
- In this level, children or parents will learn ancient and modern stories, Chinese proverbs, etc., and enhance ability on comprehensive reading and writing.
Chinese Lessons for Families with Adopted Children from China Level 6
- This level is designed for adopted children or adoptive parents who can use Chinese accurately and effectively on a wide range of topics. They can read different styles of texts and gather useful information from different parts of a text without difficulty.
- In this level, children or parents will learn contemporary writings, ancient poems, etc.
