龟兔赛跑 (guī tù sàipăo) The Race Competition between Rabbit and Tortoise

A rabbit and a tortoise decide to hold a race competition, and the winner will win the ticket to the Forest Concert.

Wèi le yíng dé sēnlín yīnyuèhuì de ménpiào, xiăo wūguī juédìng jiēshòu xiăo tùzi de tiăozhàn,
1. 为  了  赢   得  森林     音乐会   的   门票,   小   乌龟    决定    接受          小兔子 的   挑战,

hé tā jìnxíng yí cì sàipăo.
和 他  进行   一 次  赛跑。

To win a Forest Concert ticket, the tortoise decided to accept the rabbit’s challenge and took the race competition against the little Rabbit.

Bĭsài de lùxiàn shì cóng láohŭ shìzhăng de bàngōngshì ménkŏu dào sēnlín huāyuán de
2. 比赛 的  路线  是  从   老虎      市长     的    办公室       门口     到     森林    花园    的

ménkŏu. Xiān dàodá zhōngdiăn de jiù shì shènglìzhě.
门口。     先     到达       终点    的 就  是   胜利者。

The race route is from the Major Tiger’s office to the woods garden and the one who finishes the race first is the winner.

Suóyŏu de dòngwù men dōu kànhăo xiăo tùzi, jué dé tā yídìng huì zhànshèng xiăo wūguī.
3. 所有    的    动物    们     都    看好    小  兔子,觉得他  一定   会       战胜      小    乌龟。

All animals believed the rabbit would be the winner.

Xiăo tùzi fēikuài păo xiàng zhōngdiăn, lùshàng méiyŏu kàndào xiăo wūguī de shēnyĭng.
4.小   兔子   飞快   跑     向     终点,     路上      没有      看到     小   乌龟   的   身影。

Tā xīnlĭ àn àn gāoxìng, xīn xiăng xiăo wūguī kěndìng hái zài hòumiàn mànmàn pá zhe.
他 心里 暗 暗  高兴,  心   想    小   乌龟      肯定     还  在    后面      慢慢     爬  着。

The rabbit ran fast to the destination and didn’t see the tortoise on the road. He was so
happy and thought the tortoise was creeping on the road.

Kě dāng xiăo tùzi zhuăn guò shēn shí, fāxiàn xiăo wūguī yĭjīng zhàn zài zhōngdiăn le.
5. 可  当    小  兔子   转      过   身    时,发现   小   乌龟    已经   站  在      终点    了。

But when he turned around, he found the tortoise already arrived.

How did the Little Tortoise win this race competition?

When the competition began, the tortoise knew that he would not win if he didn’t find a solution. Finally, he decided to tie himself to the rabbit’s tail so that he can always follow the rabbit’s pace. When near the destination, the rabbit would turn around to see if the tortoise was behind him. On this moment, the tortoise was just moved to the destination.
