Answer To Colors Have Meaning in Chinese Culture: Learn the Meaning of “黄 (Huáng)!”

Mar. 23, 2018

Answer: B

Remember, describing a plan as being “yellow 黄 (huáng)” doesn’t mean that things will literally be the color yellow. When plans are “黄了 (huáng le)”, such as Neil and Judy’s marriage plan, as described by Tom, it means that the plans have been cancelled or have failed.

Neil hé Judy shì bú shì yào jiéhūn le?
Will Neil and Judy get married soon?

Their marriage plan has failed because Neil’s parents do not like Judy.
