In this video, the teacher said, “I like ice cream.” The little girl said: “我喜欢冰淇淋 (Wǒ xǐhuan bīngqílín).” “我喜欢……(Wǒ xǐhuan…)” is the Chinese sentence structure for “I like…”

Here are some more sentences that use the sentence structure “我喜欢…… (Wǒ xǐhuan…) I like…” in this video:

Wǒ xǐhuan mèimei.
Student: 我 喜欢    妹妹

Teacher: I like/love my (younger) sister.

Wǒ xǐhuan chī qiǎokèlì.
Student: 我 喜欢   吃    巧克力。

Teacher: I like to eat chocolate.

In the Chinese sentence structure “我喜欢…… (Wǒ xǐhuan…) I like…,” we can add a noun, a personal pronoun or a verb phrase after “喜欢.” For example:

A Noun:
Wǒ xǐhuan wánjù.
我    喜欢    玩具。

I love toys.

A personal pronoun:
Wǒ xǐhuan nǐ.
我   喜欢    你。

I like you.

A verb phrase:
Wǒ xǐhuan tī zúqiú.
我   喜欢    踢足球。

I like to play football.

Vocabulary:

喜欢 (xǐhuan) v. like

妹妹 (mèimei) n. younger sister

吃 (chī) v. to eat

冰淇淋 (bīngqílín) n. ice cream

巧克力 (qiǎokèlì) n. chocolate

踢 () v. to play (football or soccer)
