Background

George, an American, a sports fan, comes to Beijing for the 29th Olympic Games. As George walks out of the Beijing Capital International Airport, he sees somebody holding up a sign with his name on it.

Mă lì: Nín hăo Wáng Bō. Tiānqì bù hăo,   fēijī wăndiăn, ràng nín jiŭ dĕng le.
玛 丽:您  好   王    波。 天气  不  好, 飞机   晚点,   让   您   久   等  了。
Mary: Hello Wang Bo. The flight was delayed because of bad weather.
Sorry to keep you waiting for so long.
Wáng Bō: Méi guān xi, zánmen zŏu ba. Nĭmen yĭqián lái guò Zhōngguó ma?
王      波:没   关  系,  咱们    走   吧。你们   以前  来  过    中国        吗?
Wang Bo: Never mind! Let’s go. Have you ever been to China before?
Qiáozhì: Wŏmen qù guò Shànghăi, zhè shì dì yī cì   lái Bĕijīng.
乔    治:我们     去  过     上海,    这  是 第 一 次 来 北京。
George: We’ve been to Shanghai. This is the first time to visit Beijing.

Basic Sentences
