Apr. 26, 2010

眼不见心不烦 (yǎnbújiàn xīnbùfán) Out of Sight and Out of Mind (Advanced)

The character “眼 (yǎn)” means eyes. “不 ()” means not. “见 (jiàn)” means to see. “心 (xīn)” means heart. “不 ()” means not. “烦 (fán)” means upset.

Example:

A: Nǐ bú yuànyì jiàn tā ma? Hái zài shēng tā de  qì?
    你 不   愿意    见  他 吗?还  在    生     他 的 气?

Don’t you want to meet him? Are you still angry with him?

B: Wǒ bù xiǎng jiàn tā, yǎnbújiàn xīnbùfán.
     我   不    想    见 他,眼不见   心不烦。

I don’t want to see him. Out of sight and out of mind.
