The Little Bear That Lied
Měilì de dà sēnlín lǐ, yǒu yípiàn jīnhuángsè de xiàngrìkuí.
美丽 的 大 森林 里，有 一片 金黄色 的 向日葵。

In a beautiful forest, there is a section of golden sunflowers.
Ér sēnlín de lìng yìduān zhùzhe yìzhī zhuān ài pòhuài zhuāngjia de yězhū.
而 森林 的 另 一端 住着 一只 专 爱 破坏 庄稼 的 野猪。
|
|
However, on the other side of the forest lives a wild boar fond of destroying crops.
Dàjiā wèile bǎohù zhèpiàn xiàngrìkuí, zài sìzhōu wéiqǐ le láogùde lángān.
大家 为了 保护 这片 向日葵， 在 四周 围起 了 牢固的 栏杆。

To protect the sunflowers, everyone put up strong and firm railings to surround them.
Xiǎoxióng Bènben shì ge ài kāiwánxiào de háizi.
小熊 笨笨 是 个 爱 开玩笑 的 孩子。
|
|
The little bear, named Benben, is a kid who loves to play tricks.
Yǒuyìtiān, tā láidào Dūdu jiā, duì Bèi Dūdu shuō:
有一天， 他 来到 嘟嘟 家，对 贝 嘟嘟 说：

|
One day, he comes to Bei Dudu’s house and says:
“Dūdu, Dūdu, yězhū lái lā! Zhuànghuài le líba, hái zài kěn xiàngrìkuí ne!”
“ 嘟嘟， 嘟嘟， 野猪 来 啦！ 撞坏 了篱笆，还 在 啃 向日葵 呢！”

“Dudu, Dudu, the wild boar is coming! He'll knock down our railings and chew on our sunflowers!”
Dūdu zháojíde shuō: “Zhēnde ma?
嘟嘟 着急的 说： “ 真的 吗？
|
|
Bei Dudu says in a hurry: “Really?
Nà wǒmen kuàidiǎnr jiào dàjiā yìqǐ qù gǎnzǒu yězhū ba.”
那 我们 快点儿 叫 大家 一起 去 赶走 野猪 吧。”
|
|
Let’s quickly call others to drive the wild boar away together.”
Dàjiā gǎnjǐn láidào xiàngrìkuí dì, jiéguǒ lián yězhū de yǐngzi dōu méiyǒu kànjiàn.
大家 赶紧 来到 向日葵 地，结果 连 野猪 的 影子 都 没有 看见。

Everyone scurries to the sunflowers, but they find no trace of the wild boar.
Bènben zài yìpáng dàxiào: “Hāhāhāhā, nǐmen shàngdàng le!”
笨笨 在 一旁 大笑：“ 哈哈哈哈， 你们 上当 了！”

|
Benben laughs loudly and says: “Hahahaha, you are all fooled!”
Dàjiā dōu shēngqìde zǒule.
大家 都 生气的 走了。
|
|
Everyone leaves angrily.
Dìèrtiān, xiǎoxióng Bènben yòu láidào Bèilā jiā, tā duì Bèilā shuō:
第二天， 小熊 笨笨 又 来到 贝拉 家，他 对 贝拉 说：

|
The next day, the little bear Benben visits Beila’s house and says:
“Bèilā, Bèilā, yězhū láilā, yězhū láilā! Zhuànghuàile líba, hái zài kěn xiàngrìkuí ne!”
“贝拉，贝拉，野猪 来啦，野猪 来啦！ 撞坏了 篱笆，还 在 啃 向日葵 呢！”

“Beila, Beila, the wild boar is coming! The wild boar is coming! He'll knock down our railings and chew on our sunflowers!”
Bèilā zháojíde shuō: “Zhēndema?
贝拉 着急的 说： “ 真的吗？

xiǎoxióng Bènben pǎoqù gàosu dàjiā, “Yězhū láile,
小熊 笨笨 跑去 告诉 大家，“野猪 来了，

The little bear Benben runs to tell others: “The wild boar is coming!
dàjiā kuài gēn wǒ yìqǐ qù gǎnzǒu yězhū ba.”
大家 快 跟 我 一起 去 赶走 野猪 吧。”
|
|
Let’s drive the boar away together.”
Kěshì zhèyícì, dàjiā yǐwéi Bènben yòuzài shuōhuǎng,
可是 这一次，大家 以为 笨笨 又在 说谎，
|
|
But this time, everyone thinks that Benben is playing tricks again.
shuí yě búyuànyì xiāngxìn Bènben de huà.
谁 也 不愿意 相信 笨笨 的 话。
|
|
Therefpre nobody is willing to believe what he says.
Jiéguǒ, yězhū bǎ zhěngpiàn xiàngrìkuí dōu kěn le gè jīngguāng.
结果， 野猪 把 整片 向日葵 都 啃 了 个 精光。
|
|
Consequently, the wild boar chewed up all the sunflowers.
Xiǎoxióng Bènben jǔsàngde kū le qǐlái.
小熊 笨笨 沮丧地 哭了 起来。
|
|
The little bear Benben cries sadly.
Zhèshíhou, Bèiwǎ tīngdàole Bènben de kūshēng,
这时候， 贝瓦 听到了 笨笨 的 哭声，
|
|
At this moment, Beva hears Benben crying.
tā jiǎnqǐ dìshàng de xiàngrìkuí zhǒngzi, duì Bènben shuō:
他 捡起 地上 的 向日葵 种子，对 笨笨 说：

He picks up the sunflower seeds on the ground and says to Benben:
“Bènben, bié kū lā, nǐ kàn zhèxiē zhǒngzi,

“Benben, don’t cry. Look at these seeds.

We will plant them now and they will grow into new sunflowers again next year!”

The little bear Benben takes the seeds and plants them in the soil with much care.
