   when should we use 硕 （shuò） instead of 大 (dà) as they both mean large or big ??

   Thank you for your question.
   Usually, we use 大(dà) to express the meaning of big or large instead of 硕(shuò). 硕(shuò) is used in some phrase in which it has the meaning of big or large, for example, 硕大(shuòdà) which means very big, and 硕果(shuòguǒ) which means a very big success. Also, we can say 硕士(shuòshì) which means the master degree in which 硕(shuò) has meaning of knowledgeable instead of big or large.
