年夜饭 (niányèfàn ) Dinner on Chinese New Year’s Eve (Intermediate)
The character “年 (nián)” means year; “夜 (yè)” means night and “饭 (fàn)”
means meal.
Example:
Jīnnián chūnjié, wǒmen yào qù nǎinai jiā chī niányèfàn.
今年春节,我们要去奶奶家吃年夜饭。
We will go to my grandparents’ place to have the New Year’ eve dinner for this year’s spring festival.
I must say, youve got one of the best blogs Ive seen in a long time. What I wouldnt give to be able to create a blog thats as interesting as this. I guess Ill just have to keep reading yours and hope that one day I can write on a subject with as much knowledge as youve got on this one!
