丑小鸭(Chǒu Xiăo Yā) The Ugly Duckling (Part I)

1. Zài yí gè shífēn měilì de dà chítáng biān, yǒu zhī mŭyā zhèngzài căocóng zhōng fū zhe dàn. Bùjiŭ, xiăo
在 一 个 十分 美丽  的  大  池塘    边,  有  只  母鸭      正在      草丛       中    孵  着  蛋。不久,小
yāzimen jiù yí gègè pòké érchū.
鸭子们  就 一 个个 破壳  而出。
Mother Duck has been sitting on her eggs for a long time, beside a very big beautiful pond. Finally the ducklings began to hatch one by one.

2. “Jījī, jījī! ” ” Jījī, jījī!”
“唧唧,唧唧!” “唧唧,唧唧!”
“Peep, peep!” “Peep, peep!” The ducklings are making noises.

3. “Guāguā, guāguā! Nĭmen dōu chūlái le ma? “
“呱呱,     呱呱!    你们    都  出来  了  吗?”
“Quack, quack! Are you all out?” Said mother Duck.

4. “Bù, yí gè yādàn réngrán zài zhèlĭ. Qiáo, tā duōme dà! ”
“不,一 个 鸭蛋    仍然  在  这里。 瞧! 它  多么   大!”
“No, one egg is still here. Look, how big it is!” Chirped the ducklings.

5. Zuìhòu, zhè ge dà yādàn dăkāi le. Zhè zhī xiăo yāzi hěn dà hěn chǒu!
最后,   这  个  大  鸭蛋   打开  了。这  只  小 鸭子  很  大  很  丑!
At last, the large egg cracked. This duckling was very big and very ugly!

6. Ò! Wǒ de tiān! Zhè zhī xiăo yāzi hěn dà érqiě yŭzhòngbùtóng. Wǒ huáiyí tā shì yì zhī huǒjī. Wǒmen
“哦!我  的  天!这  只  小  鸭子  很  大  而且   与众不同。       我   怀疑  它 是 一  只 火鸡。我们
hěnkuài huì zhăodào dá’àn.
很快       会     找到   答案。”
“Oh, my god! This duckling is so big and so ugly. I wonder if it is a turkey. We will find out soon.” She said.

7. Mŭ yāzi dàizhe xiăo yāzimen qù hélĭ. Xiăo yāzi yí gè jiēzhe yí gè tiàojìn shuĭlĭ. Chǒu xiăo yā yě tiàojìn
母  鸭子   带着   小  鸭子们   去 河里。小 鸭子 一 个 接着  一 个  跳进  水里。丑     小  鸭  也  跳进
shuĭlĭ, érqiě yóu de fēicháng bàng.
水里,而且  游  地   非常      棒。
Mother Duck took her ducklings to the water. One after another, the little ducklings jumped into the water. The Ugly Duckling also jumped in the water and swam very well.

8. Mŭ yāzi xiăng: “Ò, tā búshì yìzhī huǒjī, huǒjī bú huì yóuyǒng. Tā yídìng shì wǒ de háizi, nà wǒmen yìqĭ
母   鸭子  想:“哦,他 不是 一只 火鸡,火鸡 不 会   游泳。    他  一定  是  我 的 孩子,那 我们  一起
qù nóngchăng.”
去     农场。”
“Oh, he is not a turkey. Turkeys can’t swim. He is my child. Let’s go to the farmyard.” Quacked mother duck.

9. Dànshì nóngchăng lĭ de suǒyǒu dòngwù dōu páichì tā. Yīncĭ, kělián de chǒu xiăo yā fēicháng de
但是        农场       里 的   所有     动物     都   排斥  他。因此,可怜 的   丑   小   鸭   非常    地
shāngxīn, zuìhòu, jiù líkāi le nóngchăng.
伤心,     最后, 就 离开 了  农场。

But all the animals in the farmyard bit and pushed him. So the poor, little duckling was very sad and finally ran away.
