Tā hěn kāi xīn,
他很开心,
He was very happy

jué dì měi tiān dōu zài shù zhuāng páng děng.
决定每天都在树桩旁等。
and decided to wait by the stump every day.

Kě shì, zài yě méi yǒu tù zi lái le.
可是,再也没有兔子来了。
But no more rabbits ever came.

Tā de zhuāng jià dōu kū sǐ le.
他的庄稼都枯死了。
His crops all withered and died.
