But today, on the internet, “小作文” is slang for overly emotional, awkward, or dramatic posts 🤪 —like breakup stories, long public apologies, or self-pity rants.

Fēnshǒu hòu tā fā le shí tiáo xiǎo zuòwén, shuō “wǒ zhù nǐ xìngfú”.
分手后他发了十条小作文，说“我祝你幸福”。
After the breakup, he posted 10 emotional essays saying, “I wish you happiness.”
